Minhagé Shaharit
4. Skipping “Hoshi’enu” on Friday
On Fridays, some have the minhag to skip the paragraph beginning “Hoshi’enu” after the Song of the Day.
Heard from Ribi David Sabah, Chief Rabbi of Montreal; that this was the minhag of Marrakech. The reason is that “Hoshi’enu” speaks of the coming of Mashiah and there is a tradition that he will not come on a Friday.
5. Qadish after ‘Alenu
The minhag is to say a Half-Qadish after ‘Alenu Leshabeah of Shaharit, Minha, and ‘Arbit. This was instituted for mourners who had difficulty reading the entire Qadish, especially young orphans, lo ‘alenu.

2. We are very strict to not intertwine our fingers and to not bend our fingers for no reason, as well to not do as the Kohanim do when they go up to Dukhan (i.e separate the index and middle fingers and the ring and pinkie fingers). This is according to the Qabala because intertwining your fingers arises the judgments that a person has upon him. Bending one’s fingers for no reason arises the Sitra Ahra which brings curses upon himself. SeeSha’ar haKavanot 20:8, the Ben Ish Hai (Perashat Pinhas Siman 8), Leqet Haqesir (p.543), and Vayisbor Yosef (p.111) in the name of Ma’abar Yaboq (Ribi Aharon
Berakhya of Modena, Italy).
3. We are strict to not close our hands into a fist for no reason, and the elderly would rebuke those who did this. This is to hint that our hands should always be open to receive the abundance from Heaven. As our Sages have expounded on the pasuq (Debarim 15:8) “Ki-fatoah tiftah” which alludes to the fact that when the hand is open in our world, the hand is open in the Heavens as well.
